A message from our VP of HR: Here’s what we’re working on in human resources

David Sensibaugh, VP for HR

Our Ballad Health merger has taken place and we’re moving forward as one system – but the transition is far from complete. There’s still a lot of work going on behind the scenes to fully bring us together, including in human resources.

We’ve got an HR integration team in place giving careful consideration to an array of things, from pay scales and benefit packages to PTO and service recognition. It’s a complicated process but the team is working hard on putting it all together for us, and as decisions are made, we’ll communicate them to our team members. Look for many of these things to take effect on July 1, 2018, the start of the new fiscal year.

We recognize it’s a time of uncertainty for everyone, so we’ll be as transparent as possible during this process and make sure Ballad Health team members are kept up-to-date as details are finalized.

Here’s a list of HR-related topics, both general and specific, you may be wondering about:

HR questions – We’re all one system now, but for benefits and HR questions, it’s still best to contact your facility HR representative with questions since your previous benefits are still in effect. Team members can also call the HR4U hotline at 423-431-HR4U (4748) or email to HR4U@BalladHealth.org.

Open enrollment – Open enrollment for benefits will likely take place in May 2018, with the new benefits package taking effect on July 1, 2018.

Benefits – Our health insurance, life insurance, vision and basic other Ballad Health benefits are still being determined, so there’s no change right now in the coverage we had prior to the merger. But you’ll find out all about Ballad Health benefits leading up to open enrollment.

Service Awards banquet – We plan to continue recognizing and honoring our team members for their valuable contributions and their years of service, so be looking for more news about our upcoming Ballad Health Team Member Service Awards Banquet.

Be on the lookout for more updates from our Ballad Health human resources!
