Important message from Debbie Dover about FY19 pay increase

This is a message from Debbie Dover, our Ballad Health SVP, talent engagement and chief HR officer Dear Colleague: As the calendar changed to July 1, it also signaled the start of fiscal year 2019 – our first full fiscal year together as Ballad Health. I would like to give you an update on a few issues I hope will be helpful to you. First, I’m pleased to announce that the Ballad Health board of directors has approved a 2% annual pay increase for team members in FY19. Given the significant reimbursement challenges and declining inpatient utilization rates for hospitals, this increase is being made possible due to improved productivity and reductions in team member turnover. As in past years, your increase will be applied at the time of your annual performance evaluation. Also during fiscal year 2019, you can expect to see a few other beneficial changes: To support your career development, you can…

Here’s what you need to know about our Ballad Health wellness program

The team member wellness program is an important part of Ballad Health’s benefits package. If you select the Ballad Health Choice Plan for your medical insurance, you can get a significant savings on your premiums by participating in our voluntary wellness plan. But more importantly, it can lead to better health – and a happier life – for you! This fits with Ballad Health’s mission to improve the health of our region, and it makes sense to start with ourselves. The wellness program encourages making healthy lifestyle choices and rewards team members who follow through with the plan. It’s simple and we’ve tried to make it as convenient as possible for all team members.   HOW DOES IT WORK? If you picked the Choice Plan, how much you’ll pay in insurance premiums will be determined by whether or not you do the wellness program, and whether or not you use tobacco. If you don’t use…

Choice of Lincoln Financial as Ballad Health’s retirement plan provider means direct savings to team members

Dear team members: You’ve been hearing for many months about the benefits of our merger into Ballad Health, and today I’m excited to let you know about a benefit our team members are going to feel directly. We’ve selected our Ballad Health retirement plan provider – Lincoln Financial Group, effective July 1, 2018 – and this choice will result in a savings to our team members of more than $700,000 a year in recordkeeping and administrative fees. That means more of the money you contribute each paycheck to your retirement plan will go directly into your retirement savings, and less of it will be spent on administrative fees. This will be reflected in your quarterly statements once we make the transition on July 1. Neither Wellmont nor Mountain States was able to obtain such favorable administrative fees alone, but together as Ballad Health, we can. We’re pleased that this synergy can directly benefit t eam…
