Due to email communication issues early in the campaign, the deadline to establish a gift to this year’s Team Member Giving Campaign has been extended to Friday, Dec. 9. This annual campaign, which was originally set to close on Tuesday, Nov. 28, provides team members an opportunity to give to their choice of many important funds and programs that benefit our communities, patients, families and team members. Giving even a little bit can make a big difference in the lives of those in need! So far, our campaign has received commitments from team members for $577,000, with about 13.5% of our team members participating. Ballad Health announces launch of mobile health clinic to serve rural communities

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – A new mobile health clinic will soon expand access to primary and preventive healthcare services for rural communities in the Appalachian Highlands.   Beginning in September, Ballad Health’s new Community Mobile Health Clinic, funded by Ballad Health Foundation through a partnership with healthcare consulting firm PYA, will bolster rural healthcare access and services by eliminating barriers to high-quality services and care. The unit will provide general medical care and women’s health services. Patients will be seen regardless of insurance status. “We’re bringing health improvement beyond our hospital and clinic walls, straight into our communities – even in the most rural and remote areas,” said Dr. Paula Masters, vice president of population health at Ballad Health. “This clinic will provide more patients access to the same high-quality healthcare provided in our brick-and-mortar locations.” Healthcare consulting firm PYA funded the purchase of the mobile unit through a donation to Ballad Health Foundation, recognition…

On Thursday, July 28, Dairy Queen® restaurants in the Appalachian Highlands are coming together for Miracle Treat Day, benefitting Niswonger Children’s Hospital. During Miracle Treat Day, $1 or more from every Blizzard treat sold at participating locations will be donated to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, which raises funds and awareness for 170 children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada.
