Team Member Giving Campaign wraps up today (Tuesday, Oct. 31); still time to give!

Our 2023 Team Member Giving Campaign, which supports a range of programs and funds to help our patients, the community, our team members and our facilities, lasts through Tuesday, Oct. 31. It’s not too late to give! Please click here to make your commitment today! As a not-for-profit healthcare system, Ballad Health treats every patient, regardless of their ability to pay. With most of our patients receiving care via Medicare or Medicaid – programs that pay less than the cost of care – there are many needs that can go unmet. Donations, even as low as $2 per pay period paid to your favorite Ballad Health Foundation fund, can help fill in the gaps. These donations can provide funding for necessities for patients and team members in need, support our region’s children through Niswonger Children’s Hospital and provide for vital healthcare and wellness equipment, programs and facilities needs throughout the Appalachian Highlands. Your donation makes…

‘For one. For all.’ Our Team Member Giving Campaign is in full swing through Oct. 31

“We know only too well that what we are doing is nothing more than a drop in the ocean. But if the drop were not there, the ocean would be missing something.” – Mother Teresa The math is simple. $2 per pay period paid to your favorite Ballad Health Foundation fund may seem like it’s not making a difference, but without that dollar every two weeks, we wouldn’t have any money to provide for our region, community and patients. Your donation makes a difference no matter the size. We have a lot of patients like Mary. She leaves one of our providers with prescriptions for antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medication and blood thinner. The medications cost $4 each with discount programs, bringing them to a total of $12 for the month. Mary only has $2 in her purse, though. And when faced with the choice between medications and dinner… her decision is clear.  But you can help…

For all.” In an effort to make things more convenient for our team members, we are rolling over all current ongoing payroll deduction gifts! NOTE: If you made a one-time, lump sum donation last year, that will NOT be automatically rolled over and you’ll need to renew that. Reminders for this year’s campaign Last year, we started with a clean slate where every team member had to re-enroll their gift. That is NOT the case this year. If you…

Niswonger Children’s Hospital Radiothon raises record $1 million for children’s health, advances Hope Rising campaign goal

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Niswonger Children’s Hospital is a regional asset, and on Friday, March 3, the entire Appalachian Highlands region stepped forward to support their children’s hospital. The 11th annual Niswonger Children’s Hospital Radiothon not only broke a local fundraising record, but it has now been recognized as one of the most successful programs in the nation among the children’s hospitals participating in the national Children’s Miracle Network. This year’s event raised more than $1 million to support the Hope Rising campaign to expand Niswonger Children’s Hospital, nearly doubling the milestone held by last year’s event. “Every single dollar raised during Radiothon is contributed toward the goals of the campaign, while Ballad Health underwrites the cost of program,” said Ballad Health Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Alan Levine. “Every bit of the region’s generosity will go toward serving our children, and that’s what makes giving to our foundation so special. “The 1,700 individual donations…
