When the merger of Wellmont Health System and Mountain States Health Alliance becomes final, all team members of the former systems will become Ballad Health team members – and that means everyone will have Ballad Health email addresses.
Your new email will look similar to your current address. Most Ballad Health team members’ email addresses will follow the format of Firstname.Lastname@balladhealth.org, much like the Firstname.Lastname@wellmont.org and Firstname.Lastname@msha.com setups in use now.
There is one exception to this change. For team members who share names, the addresses will add a number after the duplicate last name; for instance, Jane.Doe2@balladhealth.org.
Please note: Team members will not need to do anything to set up their new accounts. The first time you log on to a Ballad Health computer or system after the Ballad Health launch, your new address will automatically come up – no need to manually change your information.
After the transition, your previous email addresses from Wellmont or Mountain States will still be functional, which means any external contacts, such as vendors, will be able to reach you. Emails sent to those accounts will automatically be sent to your Ballad Health inbox.
Additionally, all previous emails, contacts and calendar information will automatically transfer to balladhealth.org accounts. So you won’t lose any messages or tasks – in fact, your new Ballad Health inbox will look and work identically to your current mailbox.
To find your Ballad Health email address, open the Outlook application from your desktop, and your new email address will be at the top of the page, above Outlook’s task bar.
Or through the internet, you can log on to your mailbox where you can search for your name using the ‘Find Someone’ search in the upper right corner. You’ll then see an information box that will have your new address listed.
Note that Ballad Health email addresses are set by the system and cannot be altered or modified by the user.
Even though email addresses are changing, all other log-on information – such as usernames and passwords – will remain the same. Access to other applications and sites will remain unchanged.
