Ballad Health offers continuing education, career growth opportunities

Benefits & HR

Ballad Health supports the continuing professional education and career development of our team members by offering tuition reimbursement and scholarships for specific organizational need programs.

AS A REMINDER: Tuition reimbursement applications for the upcoming fiscal year (programs that start after July 1, 2024) are being accepted through Feb. 29. Scholarship requests must be submitted during the semester that you want scholarship funds to begin (example: applications for spring 2024 semester are accepted from now until your spring 2024 finals).

Scholarships for team members

Ballad Health will provide scholarships for any eligible team member who pursues higher education in certain clinical disciplines. Based on the educational program, Ballad Health will cover tuition, fees and books, minus other scholarships and grants for team members who pursue higher education for an initial degree in the disciplines listed below.

* minus other scholarships and grants
**Current Ballad Health team members may receive scholarship to help with prerequisites if obtaining an LPN or RN associate degree.

Other important things to note:

  • Through a variety of flexible schedules, team members can still work while pursuing their degrees.
  • Team members with our Ballad Health vendor partners – such as Ensemble Health Partners and Compass One Healthcare – are also eligible for the scholarship application process, once enrolled in the program of study.
  • This is a great opportunity to obtain advanced skills and training for high demand clinical professions while continuing in your current position with Ballad Health.

If you are a certified nursing assistant, this program can help you take the next step toward becoming an LPN or RN! Remember, you must apply for the scholarship during the semester that you want to receive scholarship funds. Please email completed scholarship applications to Recruitment@balladhealth.org.

Tuition reimbursement

Team members who wish to pursue a higher level of professional education may receive up to $2,500 per calendar year in tuition reimbursement with attainment of eligible grades. Active RNs with an associate degree may receive tuition reimbursement for the pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.

This year, tuition reimbursement will be limited to:

  • Nursing (RN, LPN, CNA and phlebotomist)
  • Certified medical assistant
  • Surgical tech
  • Cardiovascular tech
  • Diagnostic imaging (all modalities)
  • Medical lab technologist
  • Respiratory therapist
  • For a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or IT

Tuition reimbursement requests are made annually between Jan. 1 and Feb. 29 for classes that begin after July. Those previously approved for tuition do not have to reapply.
