Here’s what the Balladeers were up to in August

Benefits & HR

The Balladeer Children’s Program had a couple of special events in August, including a visit to Brights Zoo in Limestone, Tennessee! The program has a busy September in store, as well.

The program, a free benefit for Ballad Health employees, is intended to strengthen family bonds and relationships among our Ballad Health family. Activities include visits to area attractions, picnics in local parks, holiday celebrations and activities, sports activities, discount tickets for attractions or events, treats, take-home projects and much more!

August events

Family Zoo Day at Brights Zoo – This trip took place on Aug. 19 (rescheduled from its original date due to weather) and was a private, after-hours event that allowed Balladeer families time to come into the zoo free of charge. Additional activities included animal feedings (goats and giraffes), concessions and gem mining. A total of 644 people attended this event, with many families sharing that this was their first time at the zoo!

Big Stone Gap Golf, Big Stone Gap, Va. – Families enjoyed 18 holes of mini golf, various lawn and outdoor games (cornhole, foosball, table tennis, horseshoes and more). There was also a special book nook where children could pick out a book and take it home with them. About 50 people attended, with one young man choosing to come with his family on his birthday! Each hole of the course was inspired by a bit of history in the Big Stone Gap area. Again, many families shared that this was their first time at Big Stone Gap Golf and they loved the way it was both fun and educational.
