Deadline for performance appraisals is coming up — be sure to complete by Nov. 30

Benefits & HR

Don’t forget: Ballad Health’s performance appraisal period is underway through Thursday, Nov. 30, for all team members. We want to provide you with essential information to ensure a smooth and effective evaluation process. Your contributions are invaluable to our organization, and your dedication to excellence is greatly appreciated.

General information on the performance appraisal period:

  • Dates: Annual performance appraisals are scheduled to take place between Sept. 18 and Nov. 30 for all Ballad Health team members.
  • Review period: The performance evaluation will cover the 12-month period from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023.
  • Annual wage increase: Team members hired into an annual increase-eligible position before August 2022 will receive the full 3% increase which takes effect in January 2024, as recently approved by the Ballad Health Board of Directors. Our policy with respect to team members who have a final written warning or are in a flat-rate compensation position will apply. Eligible team members hired within the last fiscal year (Aug. 1, 2022, to May 31, 2023) may receive a pro-rated amount depending on their hire date (see the posted pro-rate schedule on the HR department intranet site). The rate increase will be applied for the Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, pay date.
  • New hires: Team members hired on or after June 1, 2023, will not undergo an annual performance appraisal. Since their employment period falls within a month of the evaluation period, there will be no appraisal assigned, therefore no annual pay increase offered in January 2024.
  • Final Written Warning: Team members who received a Final Written Warning during the evaluation period (July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023) are not eligible to receive the annual increase amount in January 2024.
  • Assessment methods: Peer-rating and self-assessment options will not be used.
  • Alternate raters: In cases where the original rater is unable to conduct the appraisal, alternate raters assigned to complete the appraisal will also be responsible for the final sign-off to close the team member appraisal.
  • Discussion format: In-person discussions are strongly encouraged for performance evaluations. However, if extenuating circumstances exist, remote discussions can also be arranged.

We appreciate your commitment to Ballad Health’s mission and values. Your dedication to delivering exceptional care to our community is the cornerstone of our success.
