Balladeers were busy with holiday fun during December!

Benefits & HR

The Balladeer Children’s Program had a fun and busy December, with four different Jingle and Mingle events — each featuring Santa Claus — plus a chance to see Frosty the Snowman!

The Balladeer program, a free benefit for Ballad Health employees, is intended to strengthen family bonds and relationships among our Ballad Health family. Activities include visits to area attractions, picnics in local parks, holiday celebrations and activities, sports activities, discount tickets for attractions or events, treats, take-home projects and much more!

Check out the updated Balladeer Children’s Program site on the Ballad Health intranet.

If you’re interested in joining, see the information at the bottom of this article!

December events

Jingle and Mingle events

  • Four events were held – at Norton Community Hospital, Johnson City Medical Center, Holston Valley Medical Center and in Blountville at the new Organizational Development/Clinical Education location. The events had 865 people in attendance!
  • Food was provided at all events, catered by Taylored Venue and Events.
  • Kids worked on crafts, including gingerbread men, Christmas trees, wooden ornaments and penguins, and helped decorated Balladeer holiday cards to send to Wexford House, Madison House and Niswonger Children’s Hospital – almost 300 cards!
  • Gifts were provided for each child, selected from four gift options catering to different age groups.
  • SPECIAL THANKS: The Balladeer team says “thank you!” to these people who helped make the events happen; we couldn’t have done it without you! Nathaniel Hurd, Kelcie Cornett, Janet McColley, Tab Hammons, Shelley Martin, Candrea Thomas, Ryan Kennedy, Ashley Holliman, Diane Rector, Ron Coleman, David Perkins, Scottie Leeper, Eddie Pierson and Rick Crawford.

Frosty the Snowman

The Balladeers attended a performance of “Frosty!” by The Barter Players, given at Freedom Hall in Johnson City. This was the second year in a row the Balladeers have hosted this event. Nearly 400 people attend the show and the kids marveled as Frosty the Snowman came to life! It was a great show to see just before Christmas.
