Transition to upgraded Lawson system underway, to take effect by the end of 2022

IT & Epic

Ballad Health is in the process of updating its Infor Lawson system. Team members currently use this system for accessing pay history and tax documents, viewing and enrolling in benefits, setting up direct deposit and more. Effective at the end of 2022 and start of 2023, we will transition to Infor CloudSuite, the latest software version, which will modernize, automate and streamline many of the functions we use today.

This is an important initiative that will update and improve many of the internal systems our team members rely on every day.

Who is affected, and when

For now, only certain team members who work in the Infor Lawson system are involved in the transition, and the general team member population will not see any changes until we near the end of the year.

Upon launch, the site will look different to all team members, with a more intuitive, easy-to-use interface and more tools at team members’ disposal. Some teams, such as human resources, payroll, finance and supply chain, will also notice changes behind the scenes on some of the systems they use to perform their jobs.

Training plan

Prior to the go-live, training and further communications will be available to ensure all team members are adequately prepared for the change. We already have multiple departments working together on this project in two teams: an executive steering committee in charge of oversight, supported by a project leadership team actively implementing the update.

In the meantime, click here to visit the Infor CloudSuite Information Center, located on balladhealthnews.org. It contains FAQs, images of how the new system will look and information about our Ballad Health Change Champions – our team members who are supporting the transition to Infor CloudSuite.

Improving our technology

Ballad Health strives to be a leader in digital health solutions, and we have seen huge successes in our expansion of Epic to all hospitals and clinics. We’ve also deployed some of Epic’s major features and tools, such as MyChart and Epic Secure Chat, and rolled out a new Ballad Health app and virtual care solutions. While we’ve made significant advances in how we deliver patient care, there is an incredible amount of work that goes into supporting a healthcare organization behind the scenes as well. We want to find the most effective digital platforms for every part of our organization. These updates, which will go into effect at the end of 2022 and into early 2023, will help us do that.
