The Business Journal of Tri-Cities Tennessee/Virginia released its 28th annual class of 40 Under Forty promising young leaders, and Ballad Health is well-represented, with six team members joining the class of 2020.

The award honors the rising stars of the region’s business community and, as the Business Journal noted, the people who are the future of the region. Recipients must be younger than 40 years old, and they earn the accolade based on their professional accomplishments as well as community involvement.

Here are our Ballad Health recipients for 2020:

  • KJ Gulson – AVP, Ballad Health Medical Associates operations
  • Brooklyn Nelson – Clinical pharmacist, Ballad Health, and clinical assistant professor at East Tennessee State University’s Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy
  • Mihir Patel – Hospitalist, Johnson City Medical Center
  • Jo Pearce – Executive recruiter/Employee Center supervisor, human resources
  • Chase Wilson – Chief operating officer/chief financial officer, Ballad Health Medical Associates
  • Caroline Wright – Coordinator, marketing and communications

Normally, the class would have been honored at a gala, but that was canceled due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Instead, the Business Journal team traveled to meet, photograph and interview every honoree.

To read more about our Ballad Health recipients and to see the entire 40 Under Forty class, visit the Business Journal site here, or purchase a printed copy of the magazine at locations throughout the region.

We’re proud of our Ballad Health team members chosen this year, as we are every year. Congratulations to our winners of the 2020 Forty Under 40 award!
