Qualified team members needed to work community vaccination centers opening in four locations

COVID-19

Ballad Health needs team members to work at our community vaccination centers (CVCs), assisting with registration and vaccinations for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The CVCs will fully resume starting in four locations, serving community members age 65 and up and any other eligible people in the region. Demand for vaccinations is expected to be high.

There is a specific need for trained registration staff. Team members who sign up for CVC work will be paid. Sign up online through the Ballad Health intranet, and the POD manager will call to schedule you at the appropriate site. You can choose from dates listed on the signup form.

Team members who sign up will be contacted about scheduling and given specific information about working.

NOTE: The registration form can only be accessed via Ballad Health intranet. If you are not able to access the intranet, email CEOC-Vaccines@balladhealth.org or call 423-915-5104 to submit your information. Have the following information ready: Your team member number, phone number, personal email address, supervisor’s name, location of site you wish to work, and dates you would like to work (Monday through Friday). You may leave your information in a message.

Locations

CVCs will operate at four locations:

  • Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Franklin Wellness Center, Elizabethton, Tennessee
  • Indian Path Community Hospital, Building 2205, Kingsport, Tennessee
  • Abingdon COVID Vaccine Center, 611 Campus Drive, Abingdon, VA 24210
  • Mountain View Regional Hospital, Norton, Virginia

The opening of these sites basically replaces the vaccination effort Ballad Health assisted with several weeks ago at Bristol Motor Speedway. NOTE: The CVC formerly located in Johnson City at The Wellness Center has been moved to the site of the former Wellness Center at Sycamore Shoals in Elizabethton to ensure more long-term space.

Who can get vaccinated

People eligible to receive the vaccine in Virginia include Commonwealth residents over the age of 65; healthcare workers; and, as of March 1, residents between the ages of 16-64 with chronic health conditions. Tennessee residents eligible to receive the vaccine include everyone over the age of 65 and healthcare workers.

Helpful information

  • Roles to fill include: Registration and data entry (clinical and non-clinical), qualified vaccinators and pharmacists for vaccine prep. Actual assignments will be made onsite.
  • Team members will receive their current base rate of pay for choosing to assist at the vaccination centers.
  • Please discuss your interest with your supervisor before signing up, as we are attempting to limit overtime where possible.
  • Staffing needs may change based on availability of vaccine.
  • Prior to the first shift, team members signed up and scheduled for this opportunity will receive additional information about parking, meals, dress code, how to record worked time and other information.

Thank you for your interest in continuing to help our patients and community receive the critically important vaccines – and for all you do at Ballad Health!
