A personal message to Ballad Health team members from Congresswoman-elect Diana Harshbarger

COVID-19

Here’s a video message of support for our healthcare workers from Diana Harshbarger, Congresswoman-elect of Tennessee’s First District. (To watch on Ballad Health’s YouTube channel, click here.)

As the Congresswoman-elect of the First District here in Tennessee, I want to let you know that your efforts on the frontlines of healthcare are so very appreciated.

I know it’s not easy, and you’ve seen a lot of suffering, and you’ve shouldered the burdens for so many families and patients, that a lot of people will never know some of the things that you have encountered and that you’ve suffered with. I want you to know that I do. I’m right there beside of you. I’ve been a healthcare provider for over 33 years, and taking care of these precious patients that I call friends and families here in East Tennessee has been phenomenal over these years. It’s not easy. If you didn’t know them when they became a patient, you know them by the time they leave. You’ve seen tragedies, you’ve seen death, and you’ve seen the miracles that only God could create and do.

I want you to know I am standing beside of you, I am praying for you and for your safety and for your families and for those precious patients you take care of on a daily basis. You show up every day and show out every day as to what you’re capable of doing.

I want to tell you, hospitals are not brick and mortar buildings, hospitals are the people and the healthcare professionals who show up to do their job without complaint. And you do it so good, and so graciously and with such compassion.

I want you to know that you are truly, truly appreciated. And I am absolutely accessible and approachable and if you ever need me for anything, please let me know. And my message is to the community to take care so we can get our businesses opened up again, so we can get our children back in school and we can take every precaution to keep from creating that burden that you’re taking care of now.

I want you to know that we do care, that I care, and I stand beside of you. So take hope. And I want you to have a fantastic holiday season and know that we’re here, know that we love you and know that we’re praying for you, and don’t ever hesitate to reach out to me if I can do anything

I am humbled and honored to be your Congresswoman-elect, and I want you to know that nobody will fight any harder for you and what you do on a daily basis. So take care and Godspeed.
