You are helping someone in need: Ballad Health’s Team Member Emergency Fund

When you give to the Ballad Health Team Member Emergency Fund during our annual Team Member Giving Campaign, you help someone in real need, and that’s exactly what happened recently for one team member:

“I was very anxious about using the emergency fund as I’m extremely reluctant to ask for help, so when I do ask, it means I’m in a desperate situation. The winter found me unable to pay my power bill, I could not pay my cellphone bill which was very necessary due to living alone, and I had no idea how I would get everything paid and still get groceries. The emergency fund saved me, and gave me some breathing room to do what I needed to do until I could get back on my feet. If anyone is hesitant about using this wonderful service we have through Ballad Health, don’t be. That is why it’s there – to help those of us in need. I am so grateful they were able to help me.”

Generous team members across Ballad Health raised more than $940,000 through the Team Member Giving Campaign to help Ballad Health and United Way programs and services across the region, and over $154,000 of that was designated to the Team Member Emergency Fund.

Thank you to everyone who donated to this program. Your generosity is making a difference and helping your fellow team members, who otherwise would continue to go through hardship without your help.

The next Team Member Giving Campaign is set for Sept. 3-30, 2019. You will be able to set your designation to the Team Member Emergency Fund again, or to other great funds like the patient assistance programs, Greatest Need Fund, United Way or others.
