Special video message from Alan Levine: Creating a culture of trust

From the CEO

Dear Colleague:

I want to start by thanking each of you who come to work each day with the purpose of serving others. This calling of ours is special, and I’m truly inspired by the incredible work done each day by all who give so much of themselves.

As we approach the one-year anniversary of the creation of Ballad Health, and given much of the public discussion which has occurred over the past few months combined with the changes that have taken place, I wanted to communicate directly with you. Much is changing in the world of hospitals and healthcare, and as we embark upon adapting to these changes, it is not lost on me that we can only be successful if all of us have a clear understanding of the external environment, how we are trying to adapt to it, and how we can each contribute to the success of our mission.

No doubt, there are things we can all improve upon, and as we continue to move forward and learn, we continue to get better and better as an organization. The major improvements in clinical outcomes we are already seeing, the financial improvements that have been made even in the face of declining volumes, and the opportunities to invest in improving the health of our region are all major accomplishments made possible only because of you.

I have recorded a message (see below) which I hope you will watch. It is a bit lengthy, but hopefully addresses what may be on your mind. The video will be available on both the intranet homepage and on the Ballad Health News site.

Looking forward to working with you to help our organization become one of the best in America.

Alan
